Syndi Acampora is the owner and head coach of Hudson Valley Raw Athletics, located in Highland, NY. A wife and a mother of three girls, she has been a part-time police officer since 2002 and is currently employed by the Town of New Paltz Police Department. After Syndi’s third daughter was born in 2010, she was looking to get back into shape (like most post-partum mothers). Having been a member of a gym since she was 16, she grew frustrated that she wasn’t getting the results she desired. On January 2, 2011, everything changed … She started cross training with friends in a garage, and found that the workout style got her stronger and faster while she was also able to see physical changes in her body. She had gone from watching the numbers on her scale to focusing on the numbers she was producing in the gym, whether it was time on a clock or weights on the bar. Her self image improved and now in her 30’s and a mother of three, she found herself to be in the best shape of her life.
In March 2014, Syndi opened Hudson Valley Raw Athletics and continues to run a class based gym that is supervised by a certified trainer. She has created a supportive community made up men and women from all walks of life in a common gym space where they can reach their goals. In 2015, Hudson Valley Raw Athletics purchased an 8,000 sq ft building in Plattekill, NY and are anticipating to move to their new location in 2016.
